I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. I actually attended a couple of his Writers’ Loft sessions and really enjoyed them.
But what really irks me is that even though Cleaver acknowledges that there’s no one right way to write, he dismisses ideas and methods that he disagrees with.
Isn’t vanity a bad thing? Thanks for telling us about the problem. Here are a few lines I liked: Overall, I found Jerry Cleaver’s straightforward guide to be extremely helpful and I recommend its tips for both beginning and advanced writers. Martin’s Griffin first published Anyway, I found the book worth reading. I can say I like some of his ideas and plan to try some of his methods to keep myself motivated to write every single day.

I respect authors that engage with material that contradicts what they think, and has a conversation with those authors.
