If you’re only going to read one of them, I would go with Pachman, simply because it was written some 20 years later and is bound to be closer to current understanding a bit less out of date.

Two excellent middlegame books that I have and never see mentioned are by Romanovsky: The things you will learn in this book will spill over into your opening study because you will understand the purpose and aim of the opening, instead of just following rote moves like an automaton.
